About
A small practice built around one idea: show the math.
ASC Consulting is a supply chain analytics firm. We build models that inform expensive decisions, and we hand them over so the decision can be revisited without hiring anyone again.
Who we are
Why the firm exists.
The firm started from a frustration that anyone who has bought consulting will recognize. The analysis was competent, the deck was polished, and six months later nobody could rerun the model because it left with the team that built it.
So the operating model here is deliberately narrow. We do quantitative supply chain work: network design, simulation, forecasting, inventory, transportation, planning process, and the data engineering underneath all of it. We do not do strategy decks, systems implementation, or interim staffing, because doing those well is a different business.
Engagements are staffed by the people who do the modeling. Scoping, building, and presenting are done by the same hands, which is why our proposals tend to be shorter and our timelines include a data reconciliation phase that other proposals leave out.
We are based in Wilmington, DE, and work with clients across North America. Most engagements run remotely with onsite time concentrated where it matters: walking the building, sitting with dispatch, and watching how the plan actually gets made.
How we operate
Four things we hold to.
Say the uncomfortable number
If the analysis says the project is not worth doing, that is the finding. Softening it to protect a relationship costs the client more than it saves us.
Show the work
Every model we hand over is documented well enough for someone else to find our mistakes in it. That is the point of documenting it.
Small teams, senior hands
Two or three people who know the domain beat a large team that is learning on the engagement. It is also cheaper, which is the part clients notice first.
Leave something that runs
A recommendation decays. A working model with an owner and a refresh cadence keeps returning value after the invoice clears.
Capabilities
What is actually in the toolbox.
Methods, not vendor logos. We build in whatever platform you already run, and in open tooling where you do not have one.
Optimization
- Mixed-integer and linear programming
- Vehicle routing and scheduling
- Multi-echelon inventory optimization
- Column generation and metaheuristics
Statistics and forecasting
- Hierarchical and probabilistic time series
- Causal and promotional modeling
- Intermittent demand methods
- Backtesting and error economics
Simulation
- Discrete event and agent based modeling
- Queueing and capacity analysis
- Design of experiments

- Dashboards and metric layers
Working with us
Who this tends to be a good fit for.
The engagements that go well share a shape. There is a specific decision with real money attached, someone senior who owns it, and enough transactional history to reconstruct what actually happened. Two of the three is usually workable. One is not.
The engagements that go badly are the ones commissioned to validate a decision already made. We will run the analysis honestly, and if it disagrees with the plan, that becomes an awkward meeting rather than a useful one. Better to know that going in.
